You may have noticed the changes that have been popping up around the site.  Well, here is a full description of all the new site features for you so you can be fully aprised of all the cool new things you can do around GameUsagi.com:

Sidebar

First off, all of the new features that I’m going to discuss can be easily and quickly accessed in the sidebar.  All of your personal pages and settings can be accessed through the Control Panel at the top of the sidebar (when you’re logged-in).  Things like Rank & Point descriptions as well as the Point Store can be accessed through the navigation buttons in the sidebar.

User Profiles

You may not have noticed, but everyone now has their very own profile and facebook-like “wall” called a “board”.  You can post on your board to let others know what you’re up to, and they can comment on your postings or leave you messages there themselves.  If you want to privately message others, you can do that too.  Here’s a quick run-thorugh of the functions of each of the options in the Control Panel:

Activity – See everything you’ve done on yours or others’ boards.
Profile – View your own profile (also features your board).
Settings – Edit your profile and communication settings.
Friends – See a list of your friends and visit their profiles.
Friend Requests – View and confirm/deny friends requests that you have received.
Inbox – View messages that you have received or send a message to someone else.
Directory – See the entire user directory and look for new friends to add.
Log out – Self explanatory.

Game Usagi Points (GP) & Ranks

You can find a more in-depth description of Game Usagi Points and Ranks here (or by clicking the button in the sidebar).  A quick summary of the system is that you can now earn points for visiting Game Usagi and participating in our community.  As you accumulate points, you can use them in the Points Store (that also has a button in the sidebar) or save them and level yourself up for more prestige and a higher rank on the site.

Your Game Usagi Point total and rank can be viewed in many places including in your profile, in the sidebar and above each comment you post on one of our reviews.  The sidebar also always shows how far away you are from obtaining the next Game Usagi points level.

Users who have been GameUsagi.com users for a while can email me (Miyamoto) by using my address in the Staff Page, and you are entitled to an extra 45 GP for your loyalty to us through the years.

We’re still adding more ways to obtain and spend GP, so watch this space for even more info in that regard!
