When posing the question “Does it run Crysis?” to console owners, considering it was a PC-only title, the answer would always be unequivocally, “no”. But now PS3 and Xbox 360 owners need no longer feel left out as the sequel to 2007’s Crysis is finally here and available on consoles. Server Upgrade – Pardon our Dust

Monday, May 16th, 2011

We’re upgrading our server currently, so the site may not work at 100% capacity for the next 6 hours or so.  When all is said and done, though, Game Usagi will perform like an even faster and more secure bunny.  There’s some nice things in the upgrade for us too including better stats tracking and automated backups.  So, if you’re having problems with the site today, worry not as all will be better very soon.

Project Café/Wii 2/Wii HD/Stream Mockups [update]

Project Cafe Logo

Nintendo Project Cafe

[update:  Café seemingly confirmed as the working title for Nintendo’s next console as evidenced by the above Wario-laden banner from Nintendo’s support site for developers: warioworld.com]

Current mock-up count: 167

While there are some other very good mock-up archives for Nintendo’s next home console, we found that they weren’t updated often or in a thorough enough manner to satisfy our excitement for the system.  Since 4cr isn’t compiling one of their famous mockup archives this time ’round, we took it upon ourselves to build upon what’s already out there and try to make this the most comprehensive compilation of Project Café mockups available.

The first 47 of these can be attributed to David Turnbull (of Nintendo3DSBlog.com fame) and his mock-up archive that you should certainly check out and the rest are ones we have found and added ourselves.  Enjoy!

If you have any mock-ups of your own creation or ones you have found but aren’t in our list, please feel free to link to them in our comments sections or submit them to: tips@gameusagi.com

usagi-3ds

It’s been 24 hours (give or take) since we first got our hands on the 3DS and with a whole day’s worth of experience under my belt, I thought I’d give you the benefit of this experience and give you some info on some nuances of 3DS ownership that are not always addressed in similar guides.

Gran Turismo 5 has been out for over three months, yet sometimes waiting a while to post your review is a good thing. You see, there have been a number of patches to tweak the game since its initial launch that are very telling about the latest installment of this venerable racing franchise. Having played the game for many hours spread over several weeks has given us great perspective on this important PS3 release and, hey…considering Gran Turismo 5 was first announced in 2006 and has been in development for over four years you’ll have to forgive us for taking a few months in finalizing our opinion on it.

The original Killzone (released for PlayStation 2) was a good concept but the franchise really didn’t take its place amongst the upper echelons of FPS games until the sequel arrived on the PS3. With stunning visuals, intense shooter combat and a comprehensive multiplayer mode it became a flagship title for Sony’s console. Two years later lo and behold, the third iteration is finally here! With new environments, 3D-compatible graphics and PlayStation Move support can Killzone 3 best its predecessor? Read on to find out…
