Marble Mania is a very simple, yet addictive game. The object is to tilt and twist the environment to roll your marble to the goal, collecting the necessary crystals before you get there. Through progress in the game, players can unlock different different music, marbles (with varying specs), and levels. Kororinpa is similar to the Microsoft Plus! Labyrinth – but so much better.

The biggest and best feature about this game is the controls. Having played Plus! Labyrinth which is arrow-key controlled, Marble Mania’s use of the Wii remote is fantastic. Not only is it responsive, but it is also very smooth. When the level is tilted, the whole thing moves. Not only that, but it can be rotated in any direction through all axes. This can be very useful when you accidentally roll to far and need to recover. These controls are also very simple and intuitive, where the only button usage is to reset the ball (if you get stuck) and menu access. Otherwise, it is simply a matter of turning and tilting the remote.

Another nice feature of the game is the design of the levels. There are different themes, from nature to toy land to skyscrapers. The levels also integrate a factor of challenge where it can either be missing walls, gaps, or going to a perpendicular track (with or without connecting track).

Completion of the game is a combination of finishing all the levels, getting all the special gems (1 per level), and getting a gold cup for each level (based on how fast you get to the goal). Once all these are met, you’ll have 100%.

Scores:

  • Graphics: 8/10 – smooth and pleasant
  • Sound: 7/10 – nice, relaxing, suitable to the game
  • Story: N/A – no really story here, just a skill/puzzle game
  • Control: 10/10 – really nice and responsive

Overall Score (not an average): 6.9/10

Summary of Kororinpa Marble Mania:
As said before, it is a fun, easy, and addictive skill game. It is very easy to pickup and doesn’t even need an instruction manual (but they give you one anyway). The levels become quite intense and require deeper concentration and more steady movement. If you’re looking for a soothing, yet challenging skill/puzzle game, this is for you.
