In celebration of the Simpsons’ 400th episode, EA has released some details regarding the upcoming Simpsons Wii game:
- All of the regular voice actors will play the game voices, with around 8000 lines of dialogue
- There will be 53 minutes of in-game cinematics that are drawn like the TV show
- Will feature many cameos from characters from other EA games
- “The Wii version will include a mini-game where Homer is in a eating contest and players must use the Wii remote as a spoon”
- Game will be split into 16 distinct “episode” sections
- The player will be able to switch back and forth between two members of the Simpsons family (of their choice, excluding Maggie)
- Character-specific special powers including Bartman for Bart and Super-Nag for Marge
- There will also be a collecting element to the game which involves finding and collecting Duff bottle-caps
- Will be released when the upcoming Simpsons movie hits DVDs (not for a while)
This game doesn’t sound bad at all. Let’s hope the Wii version isn’t messed up like Spider-Man 3.
