Here’s a play-by-play of the conference from AMN (I didn’t bother watching the conference)(also, it’s backwards, so start reading from the bottom):
1:05 – The Sony show ends.
1:04 – Jack Tretton takes the stage again and thanks everyone for joining them in this showing.
12:59 – Killzone 2 gameplay footage shown. All footage is real-time and the graphics are nearly as sharp as the original CGI trailer. Graphics are amazing and is easily the best looking console game made. Doubters of Killzone should be ashamed because the game has delivered in the graphics department. The lighting and smoke effects are the best ever scene in a game.
12:57 – Gran Turisom 5 revealed. Graphics are sharp and mind blowing. No release date revealed for GT 5.
12:54 – Harrison announces a new Ps3 title from Sucker Punch, the makers of Sly Cooper, Infamous. The trailer shows a city in turmoil with a dark gritty look. The game seems very similar to Microsoft’s Crackdown. Players will be able to choose to be good or evil. The game is set for a 2008 release.
12:52 – Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is shown. Over 3,000 animations used on Drake and Naughty Dog believes it will be the best title they’ve ever made.
12:51 – LittleBigPlanet Trailer shown. Shows new footage plus reveals some new details concerning the gameplay of the title.
12:47 – New Heavenly Sword footage shown. Heavenly Sword will have group fights with thousands of enemies on screen at once. Harrison moves on to NBA 08 for the PS3 and shows some new footage. The title will have weekely updates to go with the basketball season.
12:46 – Folklore trailer shown.
12:45 – Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction shown. Huge city revealed and full of details.
12:44 – Harrison shows his Home character in a Ratchet and Clank suit to reveal the first-party titles.
12:40 – A demo will be revealed next week in Japan.
12:36 – New MGS 4 trailer is now shown. All in game graphics and looks amazing. Shows tons of characters from previous titles. Liquid Snake returns in MGS 4 and will be the main antagonist. Title will go all the way back into the Shadow Moses incident for storyline. Snakes main goal is to stop Liquid from achieving his plan. Raiden, Myrl, and Vamp revealed in trailer. Intense fight scene of Raiden and Vamp shown involving swords and knives. The title is set for an early 2008 release worldwide.
12:33 – Kojima takes stage to present Metal Gear Solid 4. Before revealing trailer Kojima talks about the MGS past and how it is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this July. This will be the last MGS title by Kojima. Prepares to show trailer. MGS 4 will tie the story together and end it. This will be Snakes last mission.
12:26 – Third-party PS3 titles shown in video montage. Call of Duty 4, Assassin’s Creed, Kane and Lynch, Resident Evil 5, Burnout Paradise, Madden 2008, Harry Potter, The Simpsons Game, Guitar Hero III, Medal of Honor Airborne, and Rock Band. Tretton mentions one more exclusive PS3 title and Kojima takes stage.
12:23 – Epic’s Unreal Tournament 3 will be a PS3 exlcusive for 2007. New trailer is shown. Intense graphics and fighting shown. Graphics surpass Gears of War.
12:20 – Tretton shows off a new Haze trailer. Graphics are astounding in Haze. The run seems to run very quickly. The trailer reveals tons of shooting gameplay. The game will be released this Fall.
12:19 – NCSoft will be joining in on the PS3 success. NC Soft will be a PS3 exclusive.
12:18 – 120 BluRay disc movies in North America this yr.
12:17 – BluRay is outselling HD DVD and Blockbuster will be housing BluRay rentals as well.
12:15 Tretton takes stage once again and mentions key goals. Increase install base of PS3 and that everyone takes advantage of all the PS3’s abilities. PS3 80 GB will retail in August for $599. The 60 GB PS3 sales have doubled since Monday’s pricedrop.
12:14 – Once you quit the game you can go right back into Home and allow for a complete online network like Sony promised in the past.
12:11 – You will be ability to launch any game from Home. Whether its on your HDD or disc based. This will let players jump right into a match of MotorStorm without leaving the Home program. Harrison then races in MotorStorm, gets into several crashes and then quits.
12:10 – New details on SingStar discussed. Online play and gameplay discussed. Harrison then goes back into his Home space.
12:08 – New spaces are shown. Revealing huge houses in a variety of locations. Harrison shows his space, which is in a Ski lodge, and shows SingStar in his house.
12:06 – Harrison move into Home details. Talks about the beta and then shows the service on his Sony phone as well. Takes a picture of people in the crowd. New Home Square will open soon. Sony will release new spaces for Home constantly allowing you to increase your spaces size.
12:01 – WipeOut HD, Pain, Warhawk, and SOCOM Confrontation trailers shown. SOCOM and WarHawk will both be available on PSN and BluRay this Fall.
11:58 – Harrison reveals new titles for PSN. First title will be available on PSN for the PS3 and on UMD for the PSP. EhcoChrome revealed for PS3 and PSP. EchoChrome is a new puzzle title for PSN and PSP. Trailer is shown using a unique animation for the title.
11:56 – Phil Harrison takes stage to discuss new PSN games.
11:55 – Tretton moves onto the PlayStation Network. Over 2 million user have registerd on the PlayStation Network with over 20 million downloads.
11:53 – Trailer reveals StarWars Battelfront Renegade Squadron only for PSP.
11:51 – New colors being released for the PSP. Will be released in Ice Silver. It’ll be released in an Entertainment Pack with Daxter, 1 Gig Memory stick, and Family Guy Freakin Sweet Collection. Another color being revealed by Chewbacca from StarWars. Special Edition StarWars PSP. It’ll be a while PSP with Darth Vadar on the back. Be released in October.
11:49 – Shows PSP video on TV via a plug in cable. Can watch any videos on the PSP from TV or watch PSP videos on TV. Also work for games and photos.
11:47 – Kaz announces PSP Lite. Same look but slimmer overall design. Has improved battery life and will allow for HD viewing.
11:45 – Tretton enters Home and see Kaz Hiria standing outside. Tretton makes fun of his RIIIIIDGE Racer remark from last E3. Kaz Kiria takes stage.
11:40 – Shows off SOCOM Tactical Strike, WipeOut Pulse, Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow, NBA 08, God of War, Silent Hill Origins, Patapon, Tiger Woods 08, Sonic Rivals 2, SIMS 2: Cast Away, SWAT: Target Liberty, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles all revealed in trailer form. Graphics all look excellent on the PSP and are going to be big releases this Fall.
11:39 – PSP sales have increased since price drop. Over a 140 games this yr for the PSP.
11:37 – Moves onto PS2. PS2 has over 118 million installed based worldwide. God of War II has sold over 2 million copies worldwide to date. God of War nearing to be $200 million franchise.160 games to be released this year for the PS2. Move onto PSP.
11:36 – Talks about the price drop of the PS3 and the new 80GB PS3.
11:35 – Over the past 13yrs Sony has strived for great innovation and entertainment. Both need each other to exist. Sony will show games, games, and more games with a few big surprises.
11:34 – Talks about his avatar in Home and how he want to improve it. Greets all the guests and welcomes everyone.
11:32 – Jack Tretton appears on screen as a Home character. Reveals Home for the PS3 and shows the townsquare. Tretton hits on a few girls on the town. Tretton steps onto stage.
11:30 – Show begins. PSP, PS3, PS2 flash across 4 screens in background.
11:28 – 2 minutes remain until show begins. Everyone takes final seats.
11:25 – Announcer requests for all guests to sit and prepare for the show to start in 5 minutes. Asks for all cameras and audio equippment to be shut off.
11:20 – Announcer asks everyone to take seats and announces that program will begin in 10 minutes. The stage is set with 4 massive screens in the background.
