dsiLots of Nintendo news this time around, the “i” in DSi is finally explained, yay!  The Commodore 64 is being released for the Wii Virtual Console, and word has it Nintendo is releasing a new Wii controller. Bioware recommends you hold on to your old Mass Effect save files. Valve releases the price for the upcoming DLC for Left 4 Dead. And some good old Quake 3 Arena on your web browser.

According to an article on 1UP Nintendo has officially explained what the “i” in DSi means. The “I” adds a personal aspect to the handheld system. The DSi has two cameras on it which gives the system its own ‘eye’ on things. So there you have it, take it or leave it. The DSi sure likes having double of everything, two card slots, two screens and now two cameras, what’s next?

If you are an old school gamer and I’m not talking about Super Nintendo days, you will be interested to hear that on the Wii virtual console the Commodore 64 is making an appearance. Steve Watts at 1UP has stated along with the release of the Commodore 64 three games will be released, The Last Ninja, International Karate, and Pitstop 2 with more titles coming in the future. The three games are priced at 500 Wii points ($5 USD). Rejoice old people!

nintendo-classic-controller-proIGN has found another Will controller…  Wait, another one? The article states there is no release date or price just yet, but the controller does look promising. A little late to the party but hey, better late than never. As you can see the new controller is pretty well a Wii Classic Controller with extension grip. The Wii controller will still be powered by a Wii Remote. The buttons are also better placed, the Z buttons are more like R1 and R2 buttons on the Sony controller. If you were thinking about purchasing a classic controller you may want to hold off for a bit until more news is released about Classic Controller PRO.

mass-effect-wallpaper-1360About a week ago Bioware posted a teaser trailer which has lead many people on the Bioware forums to go into a frenzy. Why? Because the trailer implies that Shepard is dead. Yup, I said Shepard is dead. The question is if he is actually dead or not, watch the trailer and find out. Click here to watch the trailer. Now Bioware is saying everyone should keep their save files for the sequel. Whether this means Shepard is alive and will continue to play as him or not remains to be the big question.

Lastly some good news for PC gamers. If you enjoyed playing Quake 3 Arena back in the day but have lost the CD since then, don’t worry because it will soon be playable on your web browser. Id has been busy working on Quake Live to give it a more modern feel over it’s original counterpart. Try out in the beta by heading over to the Quake Live Website.
