RESPONSE: COD4 Vs. CODWAW Vulnerable Humility

The main difference between these two games is apparent without even discussing their content.  The simple fact that not everyone knows is that these two games are made by entirely separate companies.  COD4 was made by Infinity Ward, the makers of the most award-winning entries in the series.  Call of Duty, Call of Duty 2, and Call of Duty 4 are the sole productions of Infinity Ward.  That is seriously all they make — great COD games.  The first COD (Metacritic score: 91) won over 500 Game of the Year awards when it was released in 2003.  Call of Duty 4 (Metacritic score: 94) holds such titles as “#1 FPS of All Time” and “#1 Best-Selling FPS Ever” with over 11 million copies sold (compared to, say, 8.1 million for Halo 3).  Treyarch, overall, generally makes B-List games.  Recently, in addition to CODWAW (Metacritic score: 84), they’ve made the licensed Quantum of Solace (Metacritic score: 65), Spider-Man Web of Shadows (Metacritic score: 68), Spider-Man 3 (Metacritic score: 62), and Ultimate Spider-Man (Metacritic score: 75).  Treyarch has essentially never made a game on their own with a Metacritic score over 90.  That is all that Infinity Ward makes.  With that said, I’ll touch on the true differences between the games as well.

Top 5 PS2 RPGs For PS3 Owners

top5ps2rpgs

When the PS3 was first launched, I got it hoping the excellent offering of RPGs (Role Playing Games) on its predecessor would be continued in this generation of gaming. By now we know that the PS3 has been worryingly short of high quality RPGs, especially ones exclusive to the console.

So in order to keep your RPG-starved PS3 gamers at least somewhat appeased, I?ve assembled a short list of relatively recent PS2 RPGs that would be a worthy edition to PS3 owner?s game collection. Assuming, of course, you are a true fanboy and got one of the backwards compatible PS3s available closer to launch (20GB, 60GB, and 80GB). If not, we?re sure you still have a PS2 kicking around?  and if all else fails, pick one up for less than $100, you can?t go wrong purchasing a PS2, even amidst all of this next gen hoopla.

Final Fantasy Tactics is possibly the best Final Fantasy to ever be released. There are flaws, but they take NOTHING away from the game’s enjoyability. A wonderful story, amazing gameplay, and tons of jobs and skills to work with.  So you don’t have to sit and read 3 pages of a single review, I’ll tell you in a moderately short amount of reading why this classic game is a must own for Final Fantasy fans and casual gamers alike.

Game Usagi Meta News: March 2

dsiLots of Nintendo news this time around, the “i” in DSi is finally explained, yay!  The Commodore 64 is being released for the Wii Virtual Console, and word has it Nintendo is releasing a new Wii controller. Bioware recommends you hold on to your old Mass Effect save files. Valve releases the price for the upcoming DLC for Left 4 Dead. And some good old Quake 3 Arena on your web browser.

According to an article on 1UP Nintendo has officially explained what the “i” in DSi means. The “I” adds a personal aspect to the handheld system. The DSi has two cameras on it which gives the system its own ‘eye’ on things. So there you have it, take it or leave it. The DSi sure likes having double of everything, two card slots, two screens and now two cameras, what’s next?
