April Fools – New Awesome ThinkGeek Products

April 1st, 2012 by

No, this is not a paid advertisement, we just wanted to let you know about all of the neat and original new products that the gamer/nerd product megagiant ThinkGeek has unveiled today.  We’ll tell you about the gaming-related ones here, but you can go to thinkgeek.com to check out all of the other cool Star Wars, Star Trek, etc. ones too.

First off, as pictured above, there are Minecraft-themed Peeps called Creeps!  Peeps are one of my perennial favourite Easter candies (for those who don’t know they’re like sugar-coated marshmallows).  At $5 a case they’re significantly more expensive than regular Peeps, but they make up for it with their awesome look.  I want some even though I’ve yet to play Minecraft myself. Read on to find out about the other new products they’re offering.

Next, they have two special kinds of bunnyhugs (or “hoodies” for the uninitiated):

The Technomancer Digital Wizard Bunnyhug uses LEDs to light up around your face and hands in an array of different colours and patterns depending upon what motion-recognized gesture you perform to cast 10 different “spells”.  Replete with a speaker as well, not only do your spells cause a light show, they also each have their own sound.  For this amount of technology in a garment the asking price of $120 is pretty reasonable and it will surely make you the coolest person at your next D&D meeting.

The Skyrim Electronic Dragon Shout Bunnyhug not only gives you the perennially awesome Dragonborn helmet when you put up the hood, it also has a speaker on the front that at the touch of a button can produce all 20 of the Dragon Shouts from Skyrim.  This bunnyhug will run you $90, but will pay for itself with all of the ladies you’ll attract with your bunnyhug-sourced badass-ness.

Finally, there’s Hungry Hungry Hippos for iPad.  For $30 you get not only the very awesome touch-screen compatible Hippos case for the iPad, but also a download code for the HHH app on the AppStore.  I’m sure the HHH would be fun by itself, but having the whole classic array of analog Hippos is just fantastic.  This is a really sweet way to have new age fun with a vintage feel.
