With Nintendo’s eShop getting increasingly popular on both the 3DS and Wii U there are more developers than ever scrambling to get a piece of the potential revenue pie. Amongst these hoards of new developers are a few mainstays who have stuck by Nintendo’s online distribution platforms for better or worse and one such developer is QubicGames. Having made games for WiiWare and DSiWare in the past they recently made their 3DS eShop debut with the third entry in their AiRace series, AiRace Speed. Surely with such a long history developing original downloadable games for Nintendo platforms their latest offering would be worth at least a cursory glance… or would it? Read on to find out what we thought of our less-than-one-hour of gameplay playthrough of AiRace Speed.
I don’t want to know what’s in the attic.

Over the last few days we’ve been happy to receive enough review copies to keep us busy for a while. Sony was kind enough to pop us over the latest and greatest for the PS Vita and PS3 in the form of Killzone Mercenary and Puppeteer respectively. Today we were also surprised to receive a physical copy of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD almost two weeks before its official launch date on October 4th (we’ll be buying the GameStop/EB Games special edition with the Ganondorf figurine for the office too). Look forward to full reviews of these games and more in the coming days, and you can check out our first Let’s Play episode featuring Puppeteer here if you haven’t already liked/commented/subscribed.
Long time president of Nintendo Hiroshi Yamuchi died today at the age of 85. Even though he stepped down as president to make way for Satoru Iwata in 2002, he had remained on the company’s board for the rest of his life and can in part be credited for Nintendo’s meteoric rise to the top of the video game industry.
He had his ups and downs as Nintendo’s president, introducing essentially all of the classic games and systems we know and love he was also responsible for Nintendo’s still archaic approach to the Internet and non-game media like movies and music.
Any way you look at it, he was a very rich an influential man throughout his life. He was able to pave the way for Mr. Iwata to take Nintendo in strange new directions that would forever change the gaming landscape. Rest in peace, Yamauchi-san and our condolences to his family and the Nintendo company for their loss.
