It’s been 24 hours (give or take) since we first got our hands on the 3DS and with a whole day’s worth of experience under my belt, I thought I’d give you the benefit of this experience and give you some info on some nuances of 3DS ownership that are not always addressed in similar guides.

Monday, March 28th, 2011Nintendo GDC 2011 Keynote Details
Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011Nintendo had their GDC 2011 Keynote presentation today and announced quite a few things that were a pleasant surprise for both the 3DS and the Wii. Here are the highlights for y’all:
- Netflix is coming to the 3DS this summer, wooooo!
- 3D video content on the way in the form of Hollywood movie trailers, game trailers, and short videos
- Hinted once again at 3D video recording coming to the 3DS
- GameGear and Turbografx-16 games added to the Virtual Console list for 3DS, with around 5 GG games available at the launch of eShop
- Confirmed that many old VC games will be getting 3D overhauls for the 3DS
- Late May will bring the eShop, the NetFront Web Browser, and the ability to transfer DSiware games off of DSis and onto the 3DS
- First screens from the upcoming brand-new Super Mario game for the 3DS, note the tanuki tail in the logo at the bottom of the page.
- New footage of Zelda: Skyward Sword looking basically the same, but showing new enemies and puzzles

Official NA 3DS Launch Titles Announced

Nintendo has finally released an official list of the games that will be available at launch for the 3DS on March 27th. The official price for the first-party games is $39.95 in both US and Canada:
The only two I’m buying are LEGO Star Wars III and Bust-a-Move Universe. Which ones will you be picking up?
Usagi News: Pet Usagi in Professor Layton 3DS
Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011Good news for usagi lovers everywhere, the Professor Layton game coming out for the Nintendo 3DS will feature a pet usagi that you can apparently do Nintendogs-like things with. Hurray for 3D usagi cuteness! Check out the video above for a gameplay video with the game’s adorable usagi companion.
Jan. 19th 3DS Conference Details [update]

Well, Nintendo had their launch conferences in the US and Europe today and here is the new info that we received from them:
- Launch Colours: Aqua Blue and Cosmo Black
- Sticking with name “Analog Circle Pad” for the control nub
- Home button allows internet surfing and other 3DS usage even while playing a game (see feature walk-through video here)
- Notification light:
Green – Street Pass
Orange – Friends Online
Red – Power low
Blue – Spot Pass - Mii Plaza tells you what country Miis are from and the last StreetPass game played by that person
- Friend codes are back, one per system (no individual game codes), and are auto-registered when you play with someone via local wireless
- Madden Football 3D, LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, Driver Renegade and Sonic 3DS announced (short video clip of some new and old games can be seen here and a trailer for the new Madden can be seen here)
- Super Street Fighter IV 3D will have regular online matchmaking without need for friend codes from strangers
- 30 3DS games will be out in North America before E3 this year
- Pedometer app on 3DS counts steps and awards Play Coins to spend on bonus game content of some kind
- Better-than-DSi web browser
- 3D Video player app
- Sound player from DSi will return on the 3DS
- Spot Pass (auto-connection to WiFi hotspots as you go through them) can be turned off. When it’s on, you can get content from all games ever played on the system without them having to be currently inserted or active.
- Better online store (“Nintendo eShop”) with full-screen screenshots and easier browsing
- $249.99 launch price in North America – launches on March 27th.
- No set price in Europe – launches on March 25th
- No launch games or game prices noted for North America. :/
