Why No Updates?

 Zomg

Metroid Prime 3.  Bioshock.   Call of Duty 4 BETA.  These games are simply amazing, and I would greatly recommend them to anyone (except maybe the CoD4 Beta, seeing as how it’s hard to get in).  I’m going to play more of these right now.

Also, my FTP site is down.

More reviews coming shortly!

Usagi B-Day!

Game Usagi is no longer a source for up-to-the-second (insert laugh) Nintendo news, but rather a site dedicated to giving you opinions on games from gamers just like you, so that you know what’s going to be hot/not in the gaming industry.  Forthcoming is a new ratings system along with many game reviews/previews/views from all of the systems on the market.  This will hopefully afford us a bit of flexibility and direction, and help you more with your day-to-day gaming life.

P.S. (!!!) Please vote on a new slogan for the site in the poll on the side >>>

Possible Website Changes

Friday, July 27th, 2007

(pancake on head: a deliciously fashionable change)

Game Usagi has recently been suffering from incredibly low traffic and lack of support from it’s staff (me). I figure that this is because I am simply trying to fill a hole in gamer’s lives that is already adequately filled by sites like GoNintendo, QJ.net, and MaxConsole.net. Thus some changes must take place at Game Usagi if we are to survive the long-haul and become a viable gaming/Nintendo website. Thus, this explains the new poll that we have in the side. It’s there to help us discover what is missing in your gaming-news life that we could provide for you on a daily basis. If you have any other comments or suggestions, feel free to send them via email to one of our staff members (me preferably) or leave them in the comments section. Thanks.

UPDATE: Absence Explained

Kawaii!

I have been neglecting this site as of late and would like to apologize for the lack of updates. Essentially Nintendo is to blame ^_^. One of the problems of having a news site run by a dedicated gamer is that they’ll definitely make playing cool new games a priority over posting news updates on the site. This is exactly what has happened with me. Below is a list of all of the games that I am currently concentrating on playing (so it does not include any of the many games that I am intermittently playing):

Wii

Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition

Mario Party 8

Super Paper Mario

Trauma Center

DS

Pokemon Diamond

Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (good game, even in Japanese!)

360

Ring of Death’d 🙁

PSP

Me & My Katamari

Loco Roco

Lumines II

Game Cube

Metroid Prime 2

Pikmin 2

Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes

So, you can see that my time is amply occupied with this, not to mention my job selling video games most days. ^_^

Anyways, E3 is swiftly approaching and I wanted to assure you that Game Usagi will do our best to give you top-notch coverage of everything interesting that goes down.

P.S. We’re hiring!

UPDATE: Add these to the list, thanks to my 3.40 OE-A firmware PSP (and Lumines):

PSP

Illusion of Gaia (SNES)

Megaman Battle Network 6: Cybeast Gregar (GBA)

Final Fantasy VII (PS1)

UPDATE 2: Game Usagi is Back! (for me)

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

It turns out that the culprit in the case of me being the only member of humanity with an internet connection that could not access Game Usagi turned out to be some errant connections being made to my site by my FTP client in Mac OSX, Cyberduck.  Apparently when I closed it, it wouldn’t disconnect from my server, leaving me with 50 or so connections constantly open.  This worried my server and it automatically pwn3d me with a full-out block.  I had originally thought that my ISP was to blame because I was having some bandwidth qualms with them, but they were very understanding and hadn’t done anything to my internet connection.

Thanks for bearing with us through our first bout of technical issues.

Video Game VS

Game Usagi’s newest friend is Video Game VS.  You can visit their site by either clicking “Video Game Debate” in our affiliates section in the sidebar, or clicking the image above.  The site features user-powered video game debates, and it might behoove you to take a look at some of the discussions that they have going on every day.
