ps4-meeting

Sony’s conference dubbed the “PlayStation Meeting 2013”, where Sony is expected to announce the next PlayStation home console (as well as perhaps a PS Vita overhaul and price drop), is set to air at 5:00pm CST today.  Various websites around the web will be liveblogging and livestreaming the event, we have it embedded below as well in case you have problems loading other sites.  We’ll do our usual job and take notes during the presentation for you and then put up a summary shortly thereafter with the information we have been able to glean from it.  It’s an exciting time for any gamer, whether you’re a fan of Sony or not, so be sure to check back when it’s over. You can watch a repeat of the live stream for as long as Sony offers it after the jump.

Virtue’s Last Reward Typo

Monday, November 5th, 2012

It’s nothing huge, but we found an in-game typo in Virtue’s Last Reward today.  Since it’s a really story-driven game, it’s just a little funny that such a thing got through several layers of quality control.  It will be interesting to see if Aksys thinks this is a serious enough thing to release a patch for, or if it magically becomes fixed in later printings of the game.

(See an image of the typo after the jump if you can handle minor spoilers)

3DS XL Vs. PS Vita Screen Size

Monday, June 25th, 2012

We took the PS Vita and the 3DS XL from Kotaku’s recent size comparison image and overlapped them so that you can get a better picture of just how similarly sized the screens are now.  It’s still worthwhile to note that the pixel density on the PS Vita’s 960×544 screen is nearly twice that of the 3DS XL’s effectively 400×240 screen.  When August 19th rolls around we’ll be able to tell for sure just how much better/worse 3DS games look on the XL’s screen.

Sony E3 2012 Press Conference Time (And We’re Going!) [UPDATE]

Thursday, May 24th, 2012

[UPDATE: A spot opened up for Game Usagi at the Sony E3 Press Conference this year, so with our last-minute invitation to Sony’s press conference now confirmed we can provide you with the latest and best gaming news from all three major video game companies!]

Sony announced the time of their E3 2012 press conference a couple of weeks ago, but we were holding off on posting anything about it until we heard back from them regarding whether or not we were invited to attend.  We’ve heard the official response, and we have not been invited to attend Sony’s press conference this year!

The conference will be taking place at 7:00 PM CST on Monday, June 4th, and we’ll be able to give you our impressions on whatever Sony unveils then on Thursday, June 7th after our booth tour.  Make sure to visit us frequently during E3 as we’ll have the latest insider info on all of the hottest gaming announcements and impressions on how all of the upcoming games/systems play.

White PS Vita Coming to Japan

Wednesday, May 9th, 2012

Sony Japan recently announced that a new white-coloured PS Vita will be launched on June 28th (in Japan, of course).  Chances are that the new system colour will be making the “swim across the pond” and will fairly likely have a western release announced at Sony’s E3 press conference this year.  As with most other portable systems like the iPhone and the 3DS, white seems to suit the PS Vita very well and makes our black Vita seem just a little inferior.  If you have still yet to jump on the PS Vita bandwagon, the world is now your oyster with two fashionable colours to choose from. We’ll let you know if we hear anything at E3 about these units coming to a store nearer to you than 9000 km or so.
