Fallout 4 – It’s Happening!!

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2015

its-happening

If you go on over to fallout.bethsoft.com (and disable your adblocker maybe since they seem to block whatever’s going on there) you’ll see there’s a countdown for what is most likely going to be a Fallout 4 announcement.  If we don’t get any gameplay videos tomorrow at least there’s a chance of some showing up during the course of E3.

It’s finally happening!  😀  All I can say though is that it had better not be a cross-gen game.

Dying_Light_Screenshot_22

Techland was kind enough to supply us with a pair of review codes for Dying Light on its release day.  Since then we’ve been playing hours each day and the end of the game isn’t in sight, so I figured I would do am impressions article to keep you until our more comprehensive review goes live. GeoWars3

Developer: Lucid Games
Publisher: Sierra Entertainment
Genre: Shooter
Players: 1-4
Console: PC (reviewed), Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4
Hours Played: ~5.5 hours
Progress: Completed about 40% of the Single Player and Co-Op Adventure modes.  Played a smattering of Arcade and the other sundry modes.

It’s been six years since the official second entry in the Geometry Wars series and an unfortunate three since the series’ original developer, Bizarre Creations, was dissolved by Activision. Lucid Games was luckily formed out of some of the more essential pieces of Bizarre Creations after it was blown out of the water, but as their own entity they are relatively untested having only developed a few more simple iOS-centric games since their formation. Was Lucid Games up to the task of making a brand new main-series Geometry Wars? Read on to find out if Geometry Wars 3 parallels the greatness of its predecessors.

Microsoft HQ Visit 2014

Saturday, September 6th, 2014

P1040308

We made a little 1200+ kilometre trip to Redmond, WA at the beginning of the week to pay a visit to Microsoft and Nintendo headquarters (which are literally a stone’s throw apart).  Here are the pictures we got from Microsoft’s “Building 92” Visitor Center/Gift Shop.  We first went on Labor Day and they were closed up tight, so we went back the next day and the Visitor’s Center was still closed up (but this time for new employee orientation), so we checked out the gift shop and bought a bunch of neat things — we even got a small “peek behind the curtains” by watching whoever controlled the video monitors pick out the video to play that morning.  Also worthy of note: there were a bunch of Kinect stickers in the bargain bin where most gamers would agree that they belong.  Check after the jump for the full gallery!
