Well, Microsoft had their yearly E3 conference and it was predictably underwhelming. With no megatons to drop, we were mostly just shown some additional gameplay from various games we already knew about for the system. While the exclusive focus on games and the almost complete lack of crappy Kinect stuff was greatly appreciated, the conference felt a little uninspiring overall with the lack of any big new game reveals. Highlights for me included the official announcement of the next Crackdown game and the respectable Halo 1-4 bundle. You can see the official PR line from Microsoft with a summary of all the games that Microsoft showed today after the jump.

Xbox E3 Conference 2014 Summary
Monday, June 9th, 2014Titanfall 5-Hour Energy Shots Drop in the US
Saturday, March 22nd, 2014
The 5-hour Energy people were kind enough to send us a sample up here in Canada of the Titanfall branded 5-hour Energy shots. While they’re only available at US Wal-Marts, it’s interesting to see a cross-promotion of this nature. The ones with the special Titanfall labels (our box exclusively featured the Orge titan on the front) come in Berry flavour exclusively, not that it really matters due to 5-hour Energy’s famously bitter taste. So, if you’re in the US and you’re hankering five hours of energy and coming on 10,000% of your daily recommended intake of B-12, you now have a more collectible limited-edition option at your disposal. You’ll have to pull yourself away from the game first, though.

Xbox One Reveal Video Parodies
Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013It’s no secret among the non-mainstream media that Microsoft’s unveiling of the Xbox One yesterday was an unmitigated disaster. Aside from a promising controller, the greatest result of the media event has been the numerous excellent parodies that put into perspective just how much of a misstep for Microsoft it really was. In addition to the amazingly apt clip from Fresh Prince put forth by Kotaku user FizzyWomack, check after the jump for three more great videos (and loads of potential Game Usagi points!).
Xbox One Reveal Summary
Tuesday, May 21st, 2013Microsoft laid down a similar number of cards to those laid out by Sony with their PS4 reveal earlier this February, but whose cards are better? Honestly, from what has been shown at this point Sony has the more gamer- and game-centric console with specs more likely to result in games of a graphic fidelity completely unachievable on current gen consoles. With that said, here’s the news that was released today along with an image gallery of the highest resolution images of the Xbox One that we could get a hold of (remember to right-click the images and choose “Open Link in New Tab” to see the images at their maximal resolution):
Xbox One Announced, Proper Games Mostly Ignored
Tuesday, May 21st, 2013
Microsoft announced the first few details of the Xbox One today and to be honest it’s not looking amazing as far as gamers are concerned. The controller has been slimmed down a bit (and features rumble in its triggers of all places), but almost all Microsoft talked about today was watching TV, movies, and sports programs. We’ll have some more info itemized for you tonight on everything we learned about the Xbox One today, but until then enjoy these pictures and check out a replay of the media briefing here if you missed it.
