E3

The floor layout for the new, downsized, exclusive, invitation-only E3 has been revealed to the public. Essentially, there are now only two booth sizes — 20′ x 20′ and 10′ x 10′. The big players this year (the companies that have the larger booths) are:

  • Square Enix
  • Konami
  • SEGA
  • Sony (x2)(one for “Online Entertainment” and one for “Computer Entertainment”)
  • THQ
  • Namco Bandai
  • Vivendi
  • Capcom
  • EA
  • Nintendo
  • Microsoft

Polarium Wii?

Polarium

The Mitchell Corporation (who made Polarium for the DS and GBA) has announced that they have three games in the works for release in 2007. One for the Wii, and two for the DS. I thought that Polarium was one of the more clever games for the DS, and I liked it quite a bit. I hope that whatever they’re making for the Wii will be at least as good as Polarium was.

New Wii Game — EA Playground

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

EA Playground

EA recently had an interview with IGN in which they announced a new Wii game that is in the works. EA Playground can supposedly be grouped in the same genre as Wii Sports and Wii Play, essentially “a mix of easy to pick up and incredibly fun playground games. There are some classic favorites in there along with some new twists.”

I must say that I’m a bit reserved about this game right now, I think that EA might just be trying to play off of the Wii- games’ success instead of trying to do something truly original and cool. We’ll see how it turns out, though.

Hours Played: ~5 hours

World Currently On: 4-2

Paper Mario games have done much in the past to revitalize Nintend’s biggest franchise. These games in the past have given us all the chance to see some of our favourite Mario characters in an RPG setting (this was also done by Mario RPG for the SNES, and the Mario & Luigi games for DS and GBA, but who’s counting?). The newest Paper Mario game takes the Mario franchise back to its roots. Good old platforming. While I don’t normally enjoy platformers, I must say that Super Paper Mario has been one of the most refreshing and entertaining games that I’ve played in a long time. Super Paper Mario (SPM) is also one of the best Mario games I have ever played.
