Sakurai

Check out this great comic, making light of the inclusion of characters into the upcoming Wii Smash Bros. game from 2P START! They’re a pretty new webcomic, but I like them already.

Rumour: FFIV DS Remake

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

FF4 Logo

There’s a rumour going about that the team that brought us the pretty 3D FFIII on the DS is now working on giving the same treatment to FFIV.  This rumour is certainly quite plausible, considering how well FFIII sold on the DS.  Game Usagi will inform you as soon as further news arises.

Rumour: Karous to Wii?

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

Karous Logo

Considered a Dreamcast classic, Karous is supposed to be one of the better shooter games in existence.  The game sold very well in its limited release in Japan, and is hard to find today.  Milestone, the company that made Karous, has been listed as an official third-party developer for the Wii for some time, plus some internal messages are supposed to have hinted to the game’s release on the Wii.  Hopefully, if this game does come to fruition on the Wii, it will make the leap across the pond and come to North America as well.

Spring Update May '07

The spring update that was reportedly supposed to come out yesterday has been qualified to come out during “the week of May 7th”.  So, we’ll still see it sometime this week, hopefully.  Some additions to the 360 associated with the spring update are:

? A richer Achievement notification pop-up will showcase the name of the unlocked Achievement and the gamerscore value without needing to leave the game to check the Achievements list.
? Enhanced family settings features for Xbox LIVE communications enable different defaults for video chat and voice chat.
? A new Xbox LIVE Marketplace blade lets Xbox LIVE members access the content they seek ? whether it is game content or TV shows and movies (available in the United States) ? from one place on Xbox LIVE.
? Updates to Xbox LIVE Arcade allow owners to quickly see which Xbox LIVE Arcade games their friends are playing and join in the fun. Xbox LIVE members can also compare progress of leaderboard scores and Achievements directly with all friends on their friends list. Expanded Tell a Friend capabilities make it easier than ever to boast about Achievements and high scores.
? A new option in Auto Downloads provides faster access to the entire collection of free, trial-version Xbox LIVE Arcade games.
? New progressive download controls provide easy access to optimal viewing options by letting people fast-forward, rewind, pause and resume as their video is downloaded from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
? Extension of the background download functionality will allow owners to set their Xbox 360 console to turn off automatically after downloads are complete.

Plus many more.  We’ll let you know when it goes live.

Final Fight

The three new VC games for this week are:

Final Fight – SNES – 800 Points
There’s trouble in Metro City. The members of the Mad Gear Gang have kidnapped the mayor’s daughter Jessica and the clock is ticking.

Ordyne – TG-16 – 600 Points
The evil Kubota has kidnapped Dr. Tomari’s fiancee, Kana. Take control of Dr. Tomari and his ship in order to save her. Defeat enemies over a variety of landscapes spanning land, sea, and air.

Mighty Bomb Jack – NES – 500 Points
The sequel to the original Bombjack, Mighty Bombjack brings side scrolling to the series, and brings it closer to a platform game rather than the arcade / puzzle likeness of the first one.

Usagi Google

We are now featured in the Google and Yahoo search engines. Google, of course, does a better job with us than Yahoo. On Google, both Game Usagi and gameusagi brings us up, while on Yahoo, gameusagi is pretty much your only bet. Check us out on Google here, and on Yahoo here.
