Wiicrophones Coming

Monday, May 7th, 2007

It's a microphone, okay?

There are two upcoming games for the Wii that will utilize USB microphones. One is High School Musical from Disney Interactive, and the other is the Wii-exclusive Boogie from EA. I’d really like to see some wireless microphone usage in some first-party Wii games, but we’ll have to wait and see what the future holds.

Miyamoto Interview

Sir Shigeru Miyamoto

A new interview with Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of most things associated with Nintendo, recently gave an interview to Entertainment Weekly in which he discusses many topics like the lukewarm sales of Twilight Princess in Japan, as well has his ability to make games along the lines of Halo, but his choice not to. It’s an interesting read.

New Metroid Prime 3 Info Coming

Sunday, May 6th, 2007

IGN recently alluded to what seems to be a Soul Calibur adventure game in the works for the Wii. In that same podcast, IGN has also essentially promised that there is some new info about Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on its way as well. The “week of May 20th” is when we will be watching out for more Metroid news (hopefully another gameplay video or something as well), so stay tuned to Game Usagi for more Metroid news as it arises.

Mega Man StarForce DS Info

Friday, May 4th, 2007

Mega Man StarForce

This is one of my most anticipated games coming to the DS this August.  The spiritual sequel to the Mega Man Battle Network series of RPGs, this game will once again see you roaming both the real and cyber worlds defeating evil.  A new feature of this game will be the very nice 3D characters, sprites, and effects during battle sequences.  The game will be available in three flavours: Dragon, Leo, and Pegasus.  Each will feature an exclusive transformation and other such things, but they will be essentially the same.

Rumour: Soul Calibur Adventure Game for Wii

Friday, May 4th, 2007

Soul Calibur

The latest IGN Wii podcast alludes to the fact that a “fighting game that sold pretty well that was from a 3rd party” on the Cube will be coming to the Wii as a “crazy-ass adventure game”. Most bets are on Soul Calibur, seeing as how that installation of the series sold the best on the Cube. The Weapon Master mode from Soul Calibur II was okay, but I’m not sure if something similar would translate into a viable game. But, then again, if they include Link again, of course I’m going to get it.
