Mario Kart Wii

Play Time: ~ 4 hours
Progress: All gold in 50cc cups, half of the golds in 100cc

Well. Mario Kart is always one of the most anticipated releases on new Nintendo consoles. Everyone always waits for the Zelda game, the Mario game, the Smash Bros. game, and then the Mario Kart game. Mario Kart DS was arguably one of, if not the, best game in the series’ past . It had nice new karts, both cool new and old tracks, and a couple new item changes to keep you on your toes. Mario Kart Wii surely introduces a ton of new things: sweet new characters, the use of motorcycles, some awesome unlockable karts, and a full set of new courses with the option of choosing some of the greatest from the past. But, is this alone enough to make this game the best Mario Kart ever?

News: Sonic Unleashed Screens!

Sonic Unleashed

New screens have emerged today of what may be the next Sonic game. Both the resolution and the general quality seem to point to the game being on either the 360 or PS3, but SEGA loves Nintendo, so some sort of similar Sonic game can essentially be assured. There are screens both from cinematics and supposed in-game play, and the difference between the two should be obvious. I’m looking forward to this game already, it looks like (if they’re real) SEGA’s trying to get Sonic back to his old awesome as opposed to the loading and bug laden last Sonic games.

You can download a .ZIP file of the images here:

Edit: A video from the Xbox 360 version of the game has been leaked! The screens are apparently from the 360 version as well. You can watch the after the jump:

Edit 2:  Confirmed!  Sonic Unleashed was officially accounced by SEGA to be on its way to Wii, 360, PS3, and PS2 this year.

Review: Metroid Prime Corruption

Friday, September 7th, 2007

These guys are mean...

The Metroid Prime series has garnered a very respectable amount of interest since it’s introduction in 2002. Five years later, we find ourselves faced with the final entry in this unique series. I, like many of you, picked up this game as soon as was humanly possible and haven’t been able to move myself away from it since (hence the delay in this review).

Bleach: Shattered Blade boxart

Bleach is one of the most popular anime series in Japan, as well as quickly becoming more popular in North America. It is about a teen who becomes a shinigami (death-god) who helps souls find their way to soul society. It is an action anime with a big focus on swords.

According to 1up.com, Bleach: Shattered Blade will be released in North America on October 15, 2007. According to Amazon.com, it will be available Oct. 9,2007.

editor’s note: This has been a favorite series of mine for a long time and from what I can gather, this will be a great game. I can’t wait!

owner’s note:  I have this game in Japanese, and it is certainly one of the best interactive Bleach experiences possible.  I’m hoping that the English version will be just as good.
