Casino Games for Nintendo Systems

If you are looking for some great casino games for your Wii or NDS, these are a few that come highly recommended:

One of the top Nintendo DS poker games is High Stakes Texas Hold’em. This is a great game if you are a reasonably good poker player or if you are just learning how to play the game, as the game structure is easy to get your head around. In the single player mode you pit your skill and your luck against three computer opponents. In the multiplayer mode you can simply connect with up to three other human players.  You choose the size of the blind, your bankroll, and then simply play. There are some excellent 3D animations and you can quickly refer to a chart that shows you the value of each kind of hand — particularly useful if you are a novice player. The game would be improved if it had an online option, but it is a great way for a few friends to learn the finer points of the game together.

PlayStation 4 Games and Controller Revealed

February 20th, 2013 by

ps4-controller-final

Sony’s big PS4 conference today went over fairly well as they were able to show a lot of interesting games running on their upcoming system with fairly impressive specs as well as a nicely overhauled online experience and some basic shots of the final version of the DualShock 4 (as you can see above).  Things we still don’t know about the system include how fast its x86 processor and die-sharing GPU are, what the console itself will look like, what the system, games, controllers, etc. will cost, it’s precise release date (aside from this Christmas-ish), and whether or not it’s plethora of online sharing features will come with a yearly price tag or not.  Check after the jump for a long list of what was revealed.

PlayStation Meeting 2013 Airing Soon

ps4-meeting

Sony’s conference dubbed the “PlayStation Meeting 2013”, where Sony is expected to announce the next PlayStation home console (as well as perhaps a PS Vita overhaul and price drop), is set to air at 5:00pm CST today.  Various websites around the web will be liveblogging and livestreaming the event, we have it embedded below as well in case you have problems loading other sites.  We’ll do our usual job and take notes during the presentation for you and then put up a summary shortly thereafter with the information we have been able to glean from it.  It’s an exciting time for any gamer, whether you’re a fan of Sony or not, so be sure to check back when it’s over. You can watch a repeat of the live stream for as long as Sony offers it after the jump.

Rumour: First Look at the PS4 Controller? [UPDATE]

February 14th, 2013 by

ps4protypefull

[UPDATE: a larger picture (see above, click to enlarge) as been released that shows the controller from another angle.  A bit more information as come to light as well including that the touch area on the front of the controller also functions as a basic screen, that the touch area is single-touch, that the honeycombed area below the mini screen is a microphone (not necessarily a speaker as we originally supposed), and that the triggers on the back of the controller are more like those on the Xbox 360 controller than those on the PS3 controller.]

Destructoid got their hands on a picture (which you can see after the jump) of a supposed PS4 controller prototype that is being distributed with the PS4 dev kits.  It’s appearance, while quite bulky and non-ergonomic from the looks of it, match many of the stronger rumours surrounding the upcoming console’s controller.

In the center, you’ll see the rumoured clickable touch panel (which is apparently not a screen) as well as a glowing blue bar on top which hadn’t been mentioned in any of the rumours, but seems to be similar to the light on the PS Move controller and could be used to similar effect.

Nintendo Direct 2.14.2013 Summary

February 14th, 2013 by

iwata-luigi

Nintendo sprung another Wii U and 3DS-centered Nintendo Direct presentation on us this morning.  The previously scant lineup of games for Nintendo systems in the coming months is now fairly bursting at the seams with many first party titles, even if quality 3rd-party titles are still more or less conspicuously missing.  You can watch the full 37 minute presentation on Nintendo’s youtube channel here, or check out a summary of the many, many announcements below:
