Hours Played: ~4.5
Progress: 1 platinum metal, 3 gold metals, 4 silver metals, and 1 bronze metal

Wii Play is a continuation of the Nintendo series of “Wii” games (Wii Sports being the first, and Wii Music soon to be). It encompasses 9 different mini-games that are designed to improve the gamers abilities with the Wii remote. Each of the mini-games needs to be unlocked progressively, but it is not too difficult as it is simply a matter of completing at least one level. Once all the games have been played, you can go back and earn metals in each one just like in Wii Sports Training.

IGN has the clip that was shown when Project Rygar was announced for the Wii on their site. The character art is very impressive, let’s hope that it will translate to impressive graphics in the game.

Coming (Very) Soon: Mario Party 8 (Wii)

Mario Party 8 Cover

A Mario game made for the Wii is finally coming out soon (besides Super Paper Mario). Mario Party 8 is set to be released on May 29, and features an assortment of mini-games that take advantage of the Wii’s remote capabilities.

Game features (from Futureshop website):

  • Play With Motion Control: Row your way through a river race, punch a statue to pieces, steer race cars, mopeds, and go-karts, and handle a balancing pole while walking a tightrope.
  • Play Using The Pointer: Shoot at Boos in a haunted house, drag and drop toppings in a cake-decorating competition, select the correct answers in game-show challenges.
  • Play Using The Wii Remote’s Buttons: Jump and pummel your way through a football brawl, hop and run across a field of spinning platforms.
  • Mario Party for Wii also includes dozens of mini-games, six party boards, and many game modes.
In a series first, players can transform their characters into many forms, such as player-smashing boulders and coin-sucking vampires.
  • Mario Party 8 also includes “extra-large” mini-games like Star Carnival Bowling and Table Menace.
One to four players can play Mario Party for Wii, each with a Wii Remote.

Needless to say – I’m excited for this game. I haven’t played Mario Party since the 3rd one, and I definitely have been waiting for a mario-based game for the Wii. Besides that, YouTube has provided me with some videos to enhance my excitement. Also, it happens to be my birthday that day… so I may need to pre-order this one and have a Mario Party birthday.

Digg Game Usagi

Digg

Game Usagi has just gotten easier to share with your friends in the online community! Now, at the bottom of every post is a handy “digg it” link that will enable you to dig any story on Game Usagi with a simple click. If you think the button is too small, and would rather have the larger digg icon in the top right-hand corner of every post (I think that that’d be annoying), then send an email to admin@gameusagi.com

Thanks,

As you well can see, Nintendo’s still on top with both of their systems, as they have been for the past little while with few exceptions.
