Mario Kart Wii?… Not this year :(

(No, not real… just a good photoshop)

Anyway, for those of you out there like me that can’t wait for Mario Kart Wii…. we’ll all have to wait. Mario Kart Wii is in production, but isn’t due out until 2008. There are a lot of things that Nintendo could do with this title, but I think Feelno @ NintendoRevolution.ca says it all for us.

(Oh, and FYI – I considered posting this article without including “Not this year” in the title, but I thought that would be too mean and evil.)

Review: Kororinpa Marble Mania

Progress: 65.2%
Hours Played: 6

Marble Mania is a very simple, yet addictive game. The object is to tilt and twist the environment to roll your marble to the goal, collecting the necessary crystals before you get there. Through progress in the game, players can unlock different different music, marbles (with varying specs), and levels. Kororinpa is similar to the Microsoft Plus! Labyrinth – but so much better.

The biggest and best feature about this game is the controls. Having played Plus! Labyrinth which is arrow-key controlled, Marble Mania’s use of the Wii remote is fantastic. Not only is it responsive, but it is also very smooth. When the level is tilted, the whole thing moves. Not only that, but it can be rotated in any direction through all axes. This can be very useful when you accidentally roll to far and need to recover. These controls are also very simple and intuitive, where the only button usage is to reset the ball (if you get stuck) and menu access. Otherwise, it is simply a matter of turning and tilting the remote.

First FFCC: The Crystal Bearers Screen

FFCC Character

Here’s the first shot of the main character from FFCC: The Crystal Bearers, which is on its way for the Wii. We also have some news regarding this guy. Apparently your character in the game will be uber-powerful from the get-go, with powers of flight and the like. Also, you’ll be able to take control of the massive and beautiful airships that were present in the initial public trailer for the game. That’s all we know for now, but this game is starting to sound and look pretty good…

Bungie/Microsoft Suck & Official Halo 3 Date

Bungie, I Hate You

Bungie and Microsoft are having problems getting the Halo 3 Beta up for download for those of us using the Crackdown method. Typical, just typical. I thought that Microsoft/Bungie were going to do something right for once in their existences, but I was wrong. You’d think that if you had one of the most anticipated betas of all time, that you’d make sure that people who got up early in the stupid morning could at least download it!In other news, Halo 3’s official North American release date is: September 25th. Let’s see if Bungie doesn’t mess this one up too.

Halo 3

The Halo 3 public BETA test starts shortly (see our countdown timer at the top of the site) for lucky people who either got in on one of the two Bungie promotions, or picked up a copy of the enjoyable (really!) game Crackdown (like me :D). My Gamertag is Iwatasan, we’ll see you online.

Parappa Creator Working on Wii

May 15th, 2007 by

Parappa the Rapper

Masaya Matsuura, the mind behind the popular rhythm games for the PlayStation consoles, is working on an exclusive game for the Wii. When asked about this decision, Matsuurasan first pointed out that the other two consoles were too large to physically be viable options for the Japanese community, to whom space is a very precious commodity. After that, he said:

?Wii is a very good piece of hardware. Many talented people from Nintendo make great ideas for game hardware, of course. Already I?ve been starting to think about Wii software, but it?s very hard sometimes. Because can you keep shaking the controller for hours? Players can?t spend a long time on gameplay, so this can be tough. So I respect Nintendo?s activities, but for software designers like us, it?s very hard.?

His game will apparently be controlled with only one button (which is plausible due to the motion controls of the Wii). Game Usagi will keep you updated as more news arises.
