Jack Thompson. Need I Say More?

You Don't Know Jack

Guess what? Jack Thompson is mad about something. No! Really! While I know that this is unusual, the basic story goes that Jack Thompson is upset about the upcoming Wendy’s Wii toys. I’ll give you a minute to calm down. … Okay, so anyway, here’s the direct quote from an email that he sent to Wendy’s CEO Kerri Anderson:

“A dear friend of mine worked for Wendy?s and with Dave Thomas closely for years. From that I know that Dave Thomas never would have tolerated the use of Wendy?s good name to promote Nintendo?s Wii, not with this game available on the Wii platform.”

The game he’s refering to is Manhunt 2. A fairly decently graphic game that is being ported to the Wii pretty soon. I wonder why he didn’t complain about the Xbox 360 toys that came free in cereal a while back because GTA IV is coming to the 360…

New Impossible Mission Details

May 8th, 2007 by

Impossible Mission

The Impossible Mission game, which shall be available for download on the VC, as well as in the format of a DS card, will feature three modes:
New Mode-
New graphics, new level randomizing algorithm, new sound clips. Essentially almost a sequel to the C64 version instead of a remake.

Classic Mode-
The original game in all of its -8 bit glory. Yes, -8 bit. For the hardcore C64 fans that fell in love with the original, you can play it in its entirety. It’s only 64k, so why not throw it in?

Merged Mode-
The original game with updated graphics. Good for people who want to play the original, but don’t want their eyes to bleed. This version will feature the nice graphics of the New Mode with, get this, more than twelve colours (this feat was essentially impossible on the C64)

UPDATE: Nintendo HQ Only Kind of Moving

May 8th, 2007 by

Nintendo HQ Sign

It turns out that the rumours regarding Nintendo of America’s imminent move were only partially true. It’s still up in the air as to where they’re moving, but only ~80 employees are moving. These 80 employees comprise Nintendo’s sales, marketing, and advertising teams. So, NOA is essentially “splitting” instead of moving. Most of NOA is staying right where it is.

Check out this great comic, making light of the inclusion of characters into the upcoming Wii Smash Bros. game from 2P START! They’re a pretty new webcomic, but I like them already.

Rumour: FFIV DS Remake

May 8th, 2007 by

FF4 Logo

There’s a rumour going about that the team that brought us the pretty 3D FFIII on the DS is now working on giving the same treatment to FFIV.  This rumour is certainly quite plausible, considering how well FFIII sold on the DS.  Game Usagi will inform you as soon as further news arises.
