Bethesda is a video game company known primarily for its development of one of the biggest first-person action RPG game series in the world, Elder Scrolls.  With their track record of primarily awesome games and their renown in the world of RPGs, extreme quality is most certainly expected from any game that they produce.  When it was announced that Bethesda was going to take the reins for a first-person iteration of the popular Fallout series for current-gen consoles, there was a mixed response from the gaming community.  Isometric turn-based RPG purists were disgusted that Fallout 3 would not be receiving the Diablo treatment again, and fans of the Elder Scrolls series rejoiced as Bethesda was embarking to create another game so much like thier beloved series.  I was in the latter of the two categories, so my expectations for this game were quite high.  Was Bethesda able to deliver on all of the hype surrounding their newest RPG?

Are you ready for the zombie apocalypse? Have you ever seen George A. Romero?s Day of the Dead, made way back in the 80?s? How about the latest remake? You know the movie where the zombies actually run at the people instead of sleep walking and groaning about back pains? Well, Left 4 Dead is a lot like the new Day of the Dead, it has zombies, blood, guns, and a lot more zombies! The zombies charge at you at full speed, none of that sleep walking business. You and your three other teammates (either humans or bots) will have work together and learn how to coordinate extremely well on the higher difficulties if you plan to survive.

ESRB Rating: M (Mature)
Players: 1
Genre: 3rd-person real-time RPG
Hours played: A Ton

The original Witcher game received many awards including RPG of the Year from IGN, PC Gamer, GameSpy, and GameSpot.  CDProjekt, hoping to further this great success, recently released an entirely updated version of the game with improvements covering essentially every aspect of the game.  80% faster load times, vastly improved graphics, new quests, and all-new dubbing in 8 different languages are just a few of the improvements that were put in to enhance the original award-winning game.  This is all quite impressive, but does the game fare well under the Usagi’s metaphorical gaming microscope?

Final Fantasy being one of the most popular Role Playing Game franchises of all time has created many a spin-off. Since then a remake was created in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance (Final Fantasy Tactics Advance), with a further enhanced version appearing on the PSP in 2007 (Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions). Now turn-based strategy fans can lose more nights of sleep, as the GBA sequel receives a much anticipated follow-up with Final Fantasy Tactics A2 on the Nintendo DS.

ESRB Rating: T (Teen)

Progress: Completed the game

The Battlefield franchise is well known to PC gamers, as it has a solid reputation amongst massive-multi-player shooters. Although not new to console gaming, the series has taken an abrupt turn to a story driven, single player game (don?t worry there is still a considerable multi-player component) with the arrival of Battlefield: Bad Company.
