Ghost Squad Gun

When SEGA was questioned earlier on the possibility of a shell for the wiimote to add more rumble/extra buttons to ensure the purest possible experience of Ghost Squad on the Wii, they said “Watch this space” implying that something of the sort is in the works. Game Usagi will keep you updated with any additional news as it arises.

Project Rygar Character

At Tecmo’s recent press event, they announced a new, exclusive RPG for the Wii that is a spin-off of the Rygar: Legendary Warrior “platformers” for the NES and PS2. The character art (pictured above) already looks very impressive. The only info we have on the game thus far is the tagline that it has temporarily been given:

New Hero, New Enemies, Swing Action

Ghost Squad to Wii

Ghost Squad Arcade

The popular on-rails arcade shooter has been announced by SEGA for the Wii. It will essentially be a port of the arcade game, but with 4-player multiplayer, new items/stages, and even online capabilities. For anyone who’s never played the game before, it’s essentially your basic on-rails shooter in which you shoot the badguys that pop onto the screen, try not to hit the incredibly annoying civilians, and take out the occasional helicopter or two.

Bust-A-Move: BASH! Review

Bust-A-Move Bash! Boxart

Playtime: ~5 hours

Progress: beat entire level 3, as well as half of level 1 (started out on the wrong level…)

The Bust-A-Move series has essentially appeared on every console that has been made since it’s creation, from the 3DO to Arcade to mobile phones. For the first while, the versions were either exactly the same, and simply ported from console to console, or so extremely similar that they were essentially the same game anyway. In recent times, each Bust-A-Move game has made special use of the unique features of the system that it appears on. The PSP game featured single-console multiplayer, utilizing the huge screen as two smaller ones, the DS one had you shooting your coloured bubbles up with a slingshot, and the Wii one uses the tilt-sensitivity of the wiimote to control the arrow and shoot the bubbles, as well as the pointer functionality for a brand new “shooting mode”. The Wii game stays faithful to the Bust-A-Move series, and provides a very solid entry into their never-ending legacy of games.

Simpsons

In celebration of the Simpsons’ 400th episode, EA has released some details regarding the upcoming Simpsons Wii game:

  • All of the regular voice actors will play the game voices, with around 8000 lines of dialogue
  • There will be 53 minutes of in-game cinematics that are drawn like the TV show
  • Will feature many cameos from characters from other EA games
  • “The Wii version will include a mini-game where Homer is in a eating contest and players must use the Wii remote as a spoon”
  • Game will be split into 16 distinct “episode” sections
  • The player will be able to switch back and forth between two members of the Simpsons family (of their choice, excluding Maggie)
  • Character-specific special powers including Bartman for Bart and Super-Nag for Marge
  • There will also be a collecting element to the game which involves finding and collecting Duff bottle-caps
  • Will be released when the upcoming Simpsons movie hits DVDs (not for a while)

This game doesn’t sound bad at all. Let’s hope the Wii version isn’t messed up like Spider-Man 3.
