Our other stop on our 1200+ kilometre trip to Redmond, WA was of course Nintendo of America HQ. Unlike Microsoft, Nintendo doesn’t except casual visitors of any kind on their property. We were able to catch a few rare pictures when we showed up and no one was home on Labor Day, but when we went back to try to talk our way into the company store to buy some rare swag we were (fairly politely) told to get the crap out of there because they have a “closed campus”. All we managed to snag was one of the business cards they have at their reception desk. We can only hope that Nintendo rethinks their current PR policy at their headquarters some day and once again lets people in to buy cool rare Nintendo stuff.

Nintendo of America HQ Visit 2014
Saturday, September 6th, 2014Microsoft HQ Visit 2014
Saturday, September 6th, 2014We made a little 1200+ kilometre trip to Redmond, WA at the beginning of the week to pay a visit to Microsoft and Nintendo headquarters (which are literally a stone’s throw apart). Here are the pictures we got from Microsoft’s “Building 92” Visitor Center/Gift Shop. We first went on Labor Day and they were closed up tight, so we went back the next day and the Visitor’s Center was still closed up (but this time for new employee orientation), so we checked out the gift shop and bought a bunch of neat things — we even got a small “peek behind the curtains” by watching whoever controlled the video monitors pick out the video to play that morning. Also worthy of note: there were a bunch of Kinect stickers in the bargain bin where most gamers would agree that they belong. Check after the jump for the full gallery!
Smash Bros. Instagram Contest Losing Video
Monday, June 2nd, 2014We tried our hand at getting a free ride to E3 this year courtesy of Nintendo, but didn’t manage to with the Smash Bros. Invitational contest. You can check out the video we submitted above and the contest’s actual winner here and decide which one you like better for yourself. We know which one we like better.

New Game Usagi Plays Channel
Wednesday, October 30th, 2013Game Usagi Plays quickly grew from a side-feature of our YouTube account to being its main draw. With more than 800 subscribers under out belt we felt it would help everyone out if we moved it to its very own shiny new channel. You can check out the new Game Usagi Plays channel at https://www.youtube.com/GameUsagiPlays and we’d love to have you transfer your subscription over or just subscribe anew to our fanciful video game antics.
In the coming week watch out for a brand new intro and some more terrible SNES One-Shots, tell your friends!
Release Dates and More
Wednesday, August 28th, 2013No, what you’re looking at above is not a bad Photoshop. Look at a calendar, it’s not April 1st either. Nintendo today really, honestly announced the Nintendo 2DS — a $130 version of the 3DS with original 3DS-sized screens that sports most 3DS features with the exception of 3D and closing capabilities. So, while it’s no longer really pocket-sized, Nintendo is aiming squarely at the smaller children crowd with their latest 3DS iteration, but if the Internet is to be believed this random and surprising console will likely go the way of the GBA micro and Wii mini to rest in the halls of Nintendo’s more ill-advised console refreshes. If you happen to want one for some reason they hit stores on Oct. 12th in North America.
In other news, the PlayStation 4 that is looking better every day received the honour of a release date (but not a release game line-up list unfortunately). The PS4 will officially hit NA stores on November 15th for $399.99, we’ll let you know should any more info arise regarding what games will be available at that time.
The Wii U had some news today as well. Firstly, a price-cut bringing it down to $299.99 for the Deluxe model starting on Sept. 20th. Some details about Wind Waker HD were also released including a limited edition Wind Waker HD Wii U bundle (comes with a digital copy of Hyrule Historia and an eShop code for Wind Waker) launching Sept. 20th also priced at $299.99 and the disc version of Wind Waker HD will be available in stores for $49.99 starting Oct. 4th. A special edition of the disc version of Wind Waker HD will also be available exlusively at GameStop/EB Games that includes an impressive Ganondorf figurine for a mere $5 extra at $54.99.
Finally, updates have been sparse lately and we apologize for that. Rest assured we’re busy working behind the scenes and we’ll be announcing some more details about our upcoming Let’s Play Youtube series soon too. Until then hopefully you’re not quite done with your summer’s gaming backlog yet as the fall’s big releases won’t start popping out for another week or two.
