Game Usagi Dedicated E3 Conference Page

Sunday, May 27th, 2012

E3 is once again upon us and since we’re providing a lot of live E3 coverage this year, we decided to make a page dedicated to our liveblogging of the three major press conferences.  You can access it easily by clicking the “E3 Liveblogs” button in the sidebar or by going to:

http://gameusagi.com/e3

This page will stay there throughout the E3 conferences, so you know exactly where to go when the time comes.  We’ll keep you up-do-date on any additional E3 information as it breaks.

Game Usagi 3.1.5.4 rev7 Release Candidate

Wednesday, April 25th, 2012

While we may be kidding in this post’s title, the recent changes to Game Usagi are no joke.  Over the past couple of weeks we’ve slowly rolled out a ton of enhancements to the Game Usagi experience to make your visits here more streamlined and enjoyable. Remember to clear your browser cache so that all of the improvements display correctly and let us know if you have any issues or ideas for ways we could further improve. If you’re interested, check after the jump for a list on what’s new both under and above the Game Usagi hood.

Site Updates Occurring

Wednesday, April 25th, 2012

You probably noticed our fancy new menubar and the fact that the website loads roughly 80+% faster than before, but the changes aren’t done yet.  We’re joining the 21st century by widening the website theme yet again to a full-out 980px.  While this is happening, you may experience some site glitches, so just clear your cache, keep calm and carry on and we’ll let you know when the editing fun is over and the “Game Usagi is really super awesome now” fun can begin.

They’re baaaaaack…

Monday, April 9th, 2012

After having to prematurely retire the last two iterations of the Game Usagi Discussion Boards, we decided to go back to its roots and dust off/upgrade the old SimpleMachines Forum we had back in 2008.  It’s all updated and streamlined now, so why not head over and check it out?

Some cosmetic changes are still happening to the forums, so don’t be surprised if they get even more awesome as you use them.  Also, if you have any suggestions on things we could add to the forums while they’re still being upgraded, just drop us a line and we’ll be happy to consider any of your opinions.

We’re investigating methods to incorporate your Game Usagi ranks, accounts, and GP into the forums, but for now it’s like back in the stone ages of 2008 where you’ll have to create a forum account separate from your Game Usagi account until we can work something out.

Hope to see you on the forums!

We just received confirmation that we’ve been accepted to attend E3 this year, so be prepared for the best-ever E3 coverage from Game Usagi!  We’re still working on attending the big press conferences so that we can liveblog them for you in a more… lively fashion, but we’ll have all the goods from the showfloor this year for the first time ever!  We’ll keep you posted as we learn more about attending the press conferences.  Just be prepared to tune in to us come E3 for all of your insider news, previews, and reviews!

April Fools – Wasn’t That Fun?

Sunday, April 1st, 2012

Well, there we have it.  While it wasn’t the most flamboyant of April Fools on the Internet, there were a couple of gems to be had (and a whole lot of content from Google).  We hope that you enjoyed our breaking of tradition with a bunch of seriously handled April Fools jokes in the stead of a fake website overhaul.  If you missed them, here’s a list of our fake news stories for you to read, plus a link to our original look back at April Fools past where we denounced this frivolity in favour of proper journalism in a thinly veiled mockery of some of the less personable video game news/review website out there (you know who you are).

Now we can get back to our mildly serious-cat lives and continue to bring light news and reviews to you, from gamers like you.

If you have ideas for what we could do next year, the planning has already begun.  Drop me a line at miyamoto@gameusagi.com with any thoughts on how we could improve your April Fools merriment.

History of Game Usagi April Fools

Saturday, March 31st, 2012

Game Usagi has always embraced April Fools like many fine tech sites across the Internet, but this year we’ve decided to commit ourselves to continuing to bring you hard-hitting news and reviews instead of sinking to wasting an entire day with jokes and frivolity.  Instead of our usual jokes this year we’ve decided to take a look back on April Fools past so we can remember bygone levity while looking forward to the future of… something.

Anyways, read on for a trip down memory lane.
